    A Little History
    BMMO, styled Midland Red operated in an area of some 12,000 square miles covering the center of Britain. At their zenith they had a fleet of over 1700 buses and coaches and were innovators in every sense of the word.
    A large proportion of their fleet was "home built" but by the mid '60s types more common in other fleets, such as the Leyland model, were being introduced.
    The
    route depicted is X96, ran from Northampton through Birmingham to Shrewsbury also calling at Coventry, Wolverhampton and Wellington, passing through a large portion of Midland Red's operating area.
